Glossy glass-fronted cabinets from Wood-Mode work well in this modern, sophisticated kitchen. I added a gray metallic finish behind the upper cabs for a layer of shimmer. -
A little bit space age and oh so cool, these island fixtures from Hammerton are fabricated from cast glass, which provides incredibly consistent light from end to end. My client appreciates that when she’s deep into food prep. -
Easy-to-access kitchen drawers from Wood-Mode are much more efficient than cabinet doors. Generously sized, brushed nickel pulls provide a solid grip with modern flair. -

These family-oriented clients have two young children and love entertaining in their newly built, 10,000-square-foot home. Throughout, I focused on luxury materials and furnishings, the occasional “fireworks” moments and an impeccable fit-and-finish.
While the home is built on a grand scale, I ensured that it never feels too big and always feels welcoming.
As entrepreneurs and family-oriented parents, my clients were looking forward to building their dream home, a place where they could raise their children, enjoy private time together, work at home when desired and entertain family and friends. Abundant, comfortable seating, beautiful lighting and sound-softening acoustics were priorities in the large entertainment spaces, such as this portion of the great room. Warm elements were another must-have, including the bright splashes of color, bold geometric area rugs and floor-to-ceiling window panels in this area. The ultimate goal—to make everyone feel special, as if they are booked in a five-star resort.

This soaring, black and white tray ceiling is a dramatic flourish in the great room, amplified by the sparkling, multi-faceted light fixture from Hammerton. Each pendant is made of textured cast glass, which is highly regarded for its beautiful, even light. -
Mixing geometric shapes is exciting and sophisticated, especially in black and white. For this sitting area I paired the large puzzle-piece rug from Julie Dasher Rugs with the smaller origami pattern of the Romo fabric on the swivel chairs. -
